Review on Sohma Naturals Products

If you love skincare products that are made with natural and organic ingredients like myself, you may want to consider checking out Sohma Naturals! They are Canadian company based in Nova Scotia. It is a mother and daughter duo that have many years of experience and done many research on finding the best natural and organic ingredients for our skin. The brand carries a variety of skincare products including an anti-aging line, body butters, baby line, restorative cream and a various of face products (face serum, oils).

Today, I will be reviewing 2 particular products: Renew Micellar Water and Eczema Calming Balm that we have been testing for the past week. I used the micellar water on myself and I applied the eczema balm on my daughter Alyssa’s dry areas on her body.

Renew Micellar Water

I love using micellar water products in my skincare routine but this 3-in-1 product is different! It is a makeup, cleanser and toner in one bottle! I sprayed a generous amount of product on a cotton pad and then rub it on my eye and face to remove the makeup. There is no rinsing needed! It feels really gentle that my makeup came of really easily. There is no irritation and my skin did not get any skin reaction. It also has a light floral scent that isn’t overpowering. The spray component is a little strong so I wouldn’t recommend it to spray it directly to the face but to spray on a cotton pad or cotton ball. I noticed my skin became really soft and looked more hydrated.

Eczema Calming Balm

This product is also multipurpose: primarily for diaper rash and eczema but it also temporarily protects and helps relieve minor skin irritations and itching due to poison ivy, poison oak or sumac, and insect bites. I have only tried it on Alyssa’s ezcema. I applied a generous amount of product on Alyssa’s legs, arms and cheeks. She has a lot of dry areas due to the cold weather. I noticed that it reduced the flares and dryness. The consistency is a little thick. It contains zinc oxide and oatmeal to help these discomfort to a minimal. This packaging is travel friendly and it is perfect for our Florida trip in December!

Overall, I love the brand and their purposes. I really support companies who formulates products using natural ingredients. Especially I am currently transitioning my household products to a more eco-friendly ones. I also love the colors and little details on the packaging!

Thank you so much Sohma Naturals for sending these products! I definitely recommend trying these products out. Please check out their website and Instagram page!

Review on Tru Earth Eco-strips laundry detergent

It’s laundry day and my little one wants to help!

I’ve been changing my household products to more eco friendly ones and I am so glad Tru Earth reached out to me to try out their Eco-strips laundry detergent!⁣

They are better for the environment; no plastic containers! Each package contains 32 strips (32 loads!) They are biodegradable, vegan, hypoallergenic, phosphate-free, paraben-free, dye-free and chlorine-free. These strips works well with all machines including HE (front load and top load), with hot and cold water and it dissolves completely!

It recommends using 2 strips for heavy loads and a half a strip for a small load. ⁣

They come in 3 types: fresh linen, unscented and recently they came out with Baby!⁣

They are truly amazing! At first I didn’t think a strip can handle a load of clothes but I was wrong! Each strip is concentrated and powerful! They make the laundry all clean and so fresh! I also love that there is no measuring and it is mess free!

Love everything about the brand!⁣

Burt’s Bees Products Review

For a while now, I have been loving all natural ingredients beauty products. They are better for your skin and overall good for you!

I recently received a Burt’s Bees mission complimentary of Topbox Circle. In my box, I received 6 full-sized products:

1) Lip & cheeks stick in Dahlia Dew⁣
2) Lip & cheeks stick in Suez Sands⁣
3) Highlighter stick in Opal Mist⁣
4) Bronzer stick in Bronze Splash⁣
5) Nourishing Mascara in Classic black⁣
6) Goodness Glows Liquid Foundation in Almond Beige⁣

Overall, the cheek & lip sticks and the bronzer & highlighter sticks have very subtle pigmentation. They are, however, really hydrating. In the center of the product, there is moisturizing component that may feel a little oily at first but it is really good for those who have dry skin. It left my skin and lips smooth and moisturized.

The foundation gave a light to medium coverage. It is build-able and it really evens out my skin tone. I also like that it comes with a pump.

The mascara has a lot of pigmentation. It also separates and lengthens my lashes a lot!

These products are all made with natural ingredients. They are formulated with no parabens, phthalates, sls, pretrolatum, talc or synthetic fragrances. They are also cruelty free!

I recommend these products to those who prefers natural looks and to those who are busy like myself who just have a few minutes to get ready!

Shahi Care Products Review

Are you looking for all natural and environmental friendly body care products to add to your skincare collection? You came to the right place! Today, I will be reviewing two products from Shahi Care: Organic lavender and mint hair and body bar soap & Organic lavender body butter.

Shahi Care is a small Montreal business that specializes in creating all natural and eco-friendly body care products. The company is founded by Shahinaz Youssef. She makes all her products by scratch and uses all-natural, organic, eco-friendly and fair traded ingredients. She is always researching to find ways to save the planet.

Organic Lavender and Mint hair & body bar soap

I have been using this bar soap for a few days now and so far I am loving it! I have only used it to wash my body but you can use for both hair and body. It is gentle on the skin and it smells really good! It leaves my skin really soft and moisturized. I also like that you can see the pieces of lavender buds. The brand’s logo is stamped on the soap which I find adds a nice touch!

Lavender Body Butter

The lavender body butter comes in a nice jar (80g). A small amount of product is all you need. At first, it feels a little greasy but the product absorbs quickly into the skin. Again, I love the lavender scent! It leaves my hands really hydrated and soft. I also love the jar. I will definitely reuse it!

Overall, I recommend these two products especially to those who are looking for all-natural body care products. I love all the ingredients used to create these products. I really admire the brand’s mission and values. I invite you to visit Shahi Care’s Etsy store and check out more of their products and read more about the brand. They also make candles, body scrubs and lip products!

Thank you again to Shahinaz for sending these products!

Nude by Nature Review

I received 6 full-size Nude by Nature products for free for testing purposes from TopBox Circle. This is by far the most generous mission from them! Nude by Nature is an Australian brand known for using 100% all-natural ingredients. There are no harsh chemicals and they are cruelty-free.

All products are made with Australian-native extracts, vitamins and essential oils like: Kakadu plum, Lilly Pilly, Shea Butter, Jojoba oil and vitamins A/C/E. Nude by Nature states that their makeup is good for you!

In my box, I received:
1) Contour palette
2) Highlight palette
3) Definition eyeliner (black liquid eyeliner)
4) Natural Illusion pressed eyeshadow (04 Sunrise)
5) Flawless concealer (03 Shell beige)
6) Concealer brush

Contour Palette

This palette has 3 beautiful matte shades for contouring the face. Each shade is used for a specific part to give dept and dimension.

  • The bronze (left) is to warm up the complexion.
  • The contour (middle) is to shade and define the face.
  • The highlight (right) is to give a luminosity

It gave my face a natural contoured look. The color payoff is nicely pigmented and it feels soft and silky. I also think that this palette can be used as eyeshadows for those natural looks!

Highlight Palette

These highlights are beautiful! Each shade is also for specific area of the face to add dimensions and luminosity. I find it has a nice pigmentation and gave my face a nice glow. It feels silky and applies smooth on the skin.

  • The left shade (Bronze) is to add warmth and definition.
  • The middle shade (rose) is to add a bit of radiant color.
  • The right shade (champagne) is to illuminate.

I find that this palette can also be multi-purpose. These shades can be applied over your lids to give it a little shimmer.

Definition Eyeliner

This liquid eyeliner is very pigmented and it glides very easily. I find it is a bit wet. I suggest to wait a few minutes for it to dry once applied. I like the pointed felt tip that makes it easy to create that bold line.

Natural Illusion pressed eyeshadow

I received the shade Sunrise (04). It has a light shimmer that can be applied alone all over the lid or over eye shadows. It gave my lids a beautiful natural look with a hint of shimmer.

Flawless concealer & Concealer brush

I used the concealer with the concealer brush. The concealer is okay. It is very creamy and it gave a light coverage. Some of my blemishes were still showing. However, it was really easy to apply the product. It blends smoothly on the skin giving me a natural look. I love the brush because of the pointed tip and flat edge that helps apply and blend the concealer. The bristles are very soft and it feels high quality. Also, I think this brush can be used to put eye shadow, especially when you want to pact on some glitter or shimmer!

Overall, I love this natural beauty line and I highly recommend them to all beauty lovers who are interested in eco-friendly makeups. I also love the rose gold packaging. Even the outside packaging is made with sturdy materials. They look very luxurious!

The products mentioned above are just some from their line but there so many more! I really want to try out their lip sticks and lip glosses. If you are interested in trying out Nude by Nature products and live in Canada, you can find them at Shopper’s Drug Mart/Pharmaprix.

Babyganics Review

I received these wonderful Babyganics products from the FamilyRated review club for free for reviewing purposes. I’ve heard so much about this brand when I was doing research about baby products before Alyssa was born but I could never find any here in Montreal. I was so happy and excited to be an advocate to review these products!

What I love about Babyganics is that they are known for using all-natural ingredients. They are formulated with plant-derived ingredients therefore there are no harsh chemicals (no parabens, phthalates, articifial dyes or fragrances). I also love the packaging; the designs are so cute!

Baby wipes:
I find the value amazing – 80 wipes (normally there are about 60-70 pieces). These wipes are thick and not too wet. I like that there is 1 wipe that comes out at a time and not 2 or 3 (it can be annoying to push the wipes back into the package). I have used these wipes on my daughter for a few days and so far they work well. Up to now, there are no irritations on her skin.

Shampoo & body wash:
After using this product a few times on my daughter who is 4 and half months, I am loving it so far! It is my first time using a foamy shampoo/body wash on her. I find the foam easier to latter on her hair and body compared to the gel/cream type. I also like the very light scent (from the oils) and that it is tear free. Again, she has no irritations or skin reactions when using this.

Moisturizing daily lotion:
I have used this lotion a few times on my daughter (and myself! 😀 ) after her bath and it works great! I noticed that she had some dry patches on her legs recently (maybe due to the recent cold temperature). After a few days, the dry patches disappeared! Up to now, my daughter has no skin reactions from using this product. For myself, my hands are so dry from the cold. I like that it is formulated with shea butter and cocoa butter. The consistency of the lotion is a light and a little thick but no greasy feeling. It left my hands soft and moisturized.

Since these products are new in Canada, I am not sure what the value of each items are but I do recommend them to parents who are looking for all-natural/plant-based products for their babies and toddlers. I am so glad to have the opportunity to test these Babyganics products and I am looking forward in finding them in my local stores. I am also interested in trying out other products from the brand.

Thank you again FamilyRated for this great opportunity. If you are interested in receiving full-size products to review, please visit their site and sign-up to become a member! 🙂

Happy Planet: Clean Protein Review

Happy New Year everyone!

Now that all the Holiday festivities are over, it is time to go back to eating healthy! I am starting the year with my review on Happy Planet: Clean Protein smoothie. I received this product for free from Social Nature for testing purposes. They sent a voucher to redeem a Free Happy Planet: Clean Protein smoothie at my local grocery store. There are 3 flavors: Creamy vanilla, Fair trade chocolate & coconut, and Banana cashew. I chose the flavor Banana Cashew for my review because I love these two combination!

There are so many good things about this smoothie! After drinking my first glass, I love the taste! The bottle comes in a decent size (900ml). It contains 10g of dairy free plant protein, there are no artificial coloring, preservatives or flavours. The ingredients used are locally picked here in Canada! The only thing is that it is on the pricey side ($5.99 at Metro Quebec). However, with the amount and all the nutrients and natural ingredients in each bottle it is well worth it.

I definitely recommend this especially to those who are constantly busy or even after working out. You can find this smoothie and other Happy Planet products across Canada at Real Canadian Superstore, Provigo, Avril, Loblaws, Goodness Me, Highland Farms and Metro (Quebec). I’m really curious and would love to try the other flavours and even products from the brand now that I discovered the Happy Planet!

Let me know in the comment section if you ever tried this smoothie or any Happy Planet beverages before. What are your thoughts about it? Any recommendations? #trynatural #HappyNotHangry
